Our approach
ClassGrade Pilot handles sensitive educational workflows. We design the product to minimize data exposure: student submission text is processed in memory for grading, teachers approve every export, and we do not train public models on your data.
Technical safeguards
We implement measures including:
- HTTPS encryption for data in transit between your browser, our API, and the extension
- Access controls limiting production data to authorized personnel
- Authentication via Google OAuth and secure session handling
- Separation of production and development environments
- Monitoring and logging for abuse detection and reliability
Student data handling
Submission text from Google Classroom is used only to perform grading you initiate. We store approved scores and feedback, not long-term copies of raw student submissions.
Free-tier usage may apply IP-based limits to reduce abuse while keeping the product accessible.
Your responsibilities
Keep your account credentials secure. Sign out on shared devices. Verify AI output before approving grades.
Follow your school or district policies for third-party edtech tools and AI use with student work.
Incident response
If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information, we will investigate, mitigate, and notify affected customers or users as required by law and contractual obligations.
